In English, children presented the African animal posters they made last week. These presentations were filmed so children could watch them back and critique one another on their presentation skills. The idea being that the children will be able to use this feedback to make their Mediterranean country presentations better. We also looked at using possessive apostrophes again. This is something that many are still doing wrong, so we will continue to look at this moving forward. Lastly, children wrote a setting description based on the hilltop scene in the book, The Butterfly Lion. It mentions Table Mountain as a landmark in Africa, so we looked at other landmarks around the world as part of our reading comprehension work.
In topic, children got a chance to research their Mediterranean country. I suggest you try to gather more research at home if possible, as some groups have not collected enough information yet. Next week, we'll look at putting this information into a brochure format, which will lead us nicely into being able to host a travel fair for other classes!

Make sure to read and record in your reading record. Also be sure to study your spellings and times tables. If you haven't set your baseline time in Times Table Rockstars, make sure you do so as soon as you can.
Have a great weekend everyone!
