After making our campaign video earlier this week, we were inspired to write some poetry about Lolita's situation. We looked at different types of acrostic poem: acrostic at the beginning, hidden acrostics where the second letter of each line spells out a word, and the super tricky telestitch acrostic where the first and last letter of each line spell out a word. We realised that when the rules restrict us in our writing, it encourages us to be really creative! Mrs Park has added our work below, let us know what you think.
Today we made a campaign video to try and get our message across the world. We re-watched the documentary clip about Lolita's capture and made our own notes on what we thought were the worst parts of her story. We then worked together to create a script using some very powerful language to really make the message clear. We chose some footage and music to help create an atmosphere and we think the final result is amazing! Please leave us a comment, we would love the feedback and to know our work is being seen across the world. Today we watched the first half of the documentary, 'Lolita. Slave to Entertainment'.
It is fair to say that what the children have watched so far made them feel a variety of emotions. Anger, disappointment and saddened were some I heard mentioned today. It was amazing to see everyone so motivated and eager to start helping on the crusade to get Lolita a better life. I know the work coming up over the next few weeks will be amazing as a result of this motivation. Keep checking back in to see the work the children will be putting together. Lolita has no voice of her own, the children are about to give her one! |
