In English, children planned their own story based on the Ancient Greek myth, King Midas and the Golden Touch. Children have written their first paragraph, making sure to use the suspense-building steps we learned last week. They are also beginning to use fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases with greater ease, but this still needs improvement. We didn't get to finish the stories this week so we'll complete them once we're back after half-term break.
In topic, we completed our unit on the Ancient Greeks. We looked at designing cubes using Purple Mash which we will eventually print out and make later. Our next topic is a science unit is on Heating and Cooling!
Top Spellers this week were: Ellie-Mae, Gracie, Euan, Amilia, Maya, Amy, Corey, Scarlett S, Owen W and Layla. Well done. +2 HPs each.

The Good Behaviour Award and the Good Work Award will be carried over into next half-term.
The Class DOJO Winner this week was Gracie. Well done. +5 HPs!
Homework for over the half-term break is pretty simple. I've given children a massive word search that contains all of the Y3/4 statutory words. Complete this carefully. Also be sure to study those times tables and to read and update your reading record.
Lastly, thank-you to all who brought in a donation for our harvest assembly this week. We collected a lot as a school that will go to those who need it more than us. Much appreciated.
Have a great half-term break everyone! Stay safe and enjoy yourselves!
