In English, children wrote their replies to their Canadian pen pals. We'll look to write these out in good next week after children can use their peer review comments to improve them.
In topic, our group projects are underway. Children have been put in small groups and given a Roman focus to research. Their goal will be to create a PowerPoint presentation to show the rest of the class. We also learned how to read and write Roman numerals. This was tough at first, but now that children have the basics, they are starting to become more confident with these. Homework this weekend is further practise with Roman numerals.
Top Spellers this week (Latin prefixes) were: Amilia, Emmi, Amy, Lewis, Ellie-Mae, Gracie, Joel, Corey, Scarlett S and Max. Well done! +2 HPs each.
Spelling for next week (Latin prefixes):
multi- = many
non- = not
mira- = strange, unknown
circum- = around
Same as last week...you'll need to find words that start with these prefixes. Some are more difficult than others!
The Good Behaviour Award this week went Billy for helping his table partner catch up with work she missed when she was off poorly.
The Good Work Award this week went to Harvey for his continued improvement in maths.
The Class DOJO Winner this week was Owen A.
Well done to you all. +5 HPs each.
Remember to read and record in your reading records as usual. Also be sure to study your spellings and times tables.
Have a great weekend everyone!
