In English, we used the silent animation, The Lighthouse. Children attempted to 'hotseat' in groups. This is where children ask one child questions and that child needs to answer in character. Most found this really challenging so hopefully it is something we can come back to later in the year. We also looked at emotive language and synonyms. Towards the end of the week, children wrote an alternate ending as their extended write, trying to include fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and emotive language.
In topic, we finished writing up the conclusion to our ice experiment we conducted last week. We also learned the components of the Water Cycle and how it is a continuous process, thankfully!
In PE, children are working on a routine that involves 3 different balances using sensible movements into and out of each. We'll continue this next week.
Top Spellers this week (plural noun rules) were: Cerys, Evie, Maya, Euan, Ellie-Mae and Owen W. Well done! +2 HPs each.

The Class DOJO Winner this week was a draw between many. We'll carry the points over to next week.
Our class received the Class of the Week Award this week also! Woohooo! Way to go Year 4!
Snow made it's first appearance this week here in Peterlee. Make sure you dress appropriately. Bring a change of shoes/socks and always bring a coat, hat and gloves. The weather is always changing, but if you're prepared, it doesn't matter!
Be sure to study your spelling and times tables. Also be sure to read and record in your reading record. A few children are working their way up the TTRockstars ranks. Keep up the good work.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend everyone. Take care of yourselves!
