In English, children wrote their own alternative ending to Frankenstein, as many children expressed how sad of an ending it was. Children then peer-reviewed each other's work, noting what they thought was done well and what they thought could be improved. We also looked at some words with different ethnic origins, namely: k sound spelled ch (Greek), sh sound spelled ch (French), g sound spelled gue (French), k sound spelled que (French) and s sound spelled sc (Latin). Children researched to find words that fit these categories, and then they were challenged to write a brief story using some of these words.
In topic, children continued to work on their Mediterranean country travel brochures. They also started to design their own musical instrument, which they will start to make next week. Therefore, be sure to bring in any materials you need as soon as possible!
