Other than assessments, children learned to write complex sentences using coordinating conjunctions (oooh-la-la). They also practised using adverb starters to improve their descriptive sentences.
In maths, we looked at ordering fractions again and also how to add and subtract fractions. Children have learned the Roman numerals well, but check out this game for further practise.
In topic, children have designed their own Roman mosaic and they have now begun to make their mosaic using different tiles (paper)! Hopefully they are completed early next week so that they can go up on display!
Top Spellers this week were: Layla, Grace, Jasmin, Ethan F, Alfie, Sophie, Ellie E, Jaclyn, Reuben and Ella. Good job, +2HPs each!
Week 9 Spellings
This week I will choose 10 random words out of the 80 words tested this term. Think about how you will study for this. Go over the words you know you had trouble with! Our test will be on Tuesday as usual.
The Good Work Award went to Hannah this week for the continued effort she has put in recently. It's nice to see. Keep up the good work Hannah!
The Good Behaviour Award went to Ella this week for always being sensible. It's nice to know I can count on you to do the right thing Ella!
Speaking of which, our Class DOJO winner this week was also Ella! +5HPs! Way to go!
Remember to read and record in your yellow log book. Also, make sure you bring your PE kit back in.
Homework this week is a chance to write an information poster/biography on Julius Caesar! Use the information page I provided, but also look up more information if you are able to!
Parent/Teacher meetings are this Monday and Tuesday. Children have been given their time/day today to take home. If this time/day does not work, please feel free to contact the office to arrange another time/day.
Have a great weekend everyone!
