Tuesday was our school Sports Day! House groups competed against each other in a variety of games. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and it rained half-way through, but we managed to complete enough activities to determine the winners. Congratulations Yellow House!
Many of our class was out at Shotton Hall on Thursday as part of the Peterlee Partnership Cultural Heritage Day. Members of the school choir, orchestra and Andrew's singing group participated. Mrs. Adair spoke about their involvement in assembly and had nothing but positive feedback to give, which is great to hear!
As far as our classwork goes, we have looked at more mental strategies for all four operations, along with a review of the formal methods again. Furthermore, we looked at common suffixes and using conjunctions in English.
Our spelling test on Tuesday next week with be our Super Massive Incredible World Championship of Awesome Spellers test. It will be ten words chosen from all of the words we have studied this term. Who will be our Top Speller(s)? If you want it to be you, study hard this weekend!
Homework this week is a bit of maths review. If anyone is stuck, be sure to ask me on Monday so you can still complete it for on time Tuesday.
Next week is our last week! The Year 6 performance is on Monday afternoon. We had a chance to sit in on the dress rehearsal on Friday. It's great! Very humourous.
Please be sure to bring your PE kit and reading folder in with you each day next week. If you are using a library book, they need to be in on Monday as they need to go back on Tuesday!
Have a great weekend.
Mr. Sutherland
