In English, we mainly looked at speech again. We covered the correct way to punctuate speech and the format of new speaker = new line. Lastly, we looked at how to improve the reporting clause to included more detail. We'll continue to practise these skills over the remaining weeks.
In topic, we started our science unit on sound. Children completed their pre-learning assessment and came up with their enquiry questions to help guide their learning.
We also had our class trip this week! We went to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle. Children actively took part in many activities, including a 4D Motion Ride, a display about gases and a planetarium display! All children behaved well and represented the school excellently.
Spellings for next week (ou vowel blend):
though - Even though it was cloudy, it was still warm out.

These spellings will be tested next week, so be sure to study them carefully over the weekend.
The Good Work Award, the Good Behaviour Award and the Class DOJO Winner will all be carried over to next week! Our awards assembly will be on Monday due to having visitors during the Friday assembly.
Remember to read and record in your reading records, along with studying your spellings and times tables. Good luck to the Year 6s who are going on their residential trip next week. More room on the yard during break times for the rest of us! Ha ha.
Have a great weekend everyone!
