In maths we have been looking at classifying 2-D and 3-D shapes by their properties. Children know how to name 2-D shapes by the number of sides it has. They can also name 3-D shapes by their properties (faces, edges and vertices).
Check out this fun shape game to help you with 2-D and 3-D shapes!
In English, we have looked at using coordinating conjunctions. Children know the acronyn: FANBOYS to remember the different coordinating conjunctions (for and nor but or yet so). They also wrote an extended write on Friday. This was a diary entry from the point of view of the Boy in the Butterfly Lion which is our new novel study for this half-term!
In topic, we have wrapped up our unit on forces and magnets and started our new unit on animals, bones and teeth! The children seem really excited to learn all about this topic so I hope this enthusiasm continues.
Children have written their new spellings in the back of their books.
