Since this week was only Thursday and Friday we spent most of the time getting to know each other and discussing some of the class routines. The children also told me all about their adventures during the summer break.
This Blog is meant to help both parents and pupils keep organised and further the children's learning outside of the classroom. I update it at the end of each week usually, making sure to note important events coming up if needed.
Some routines:
- Homework goes out on Fridays (no homework this week!) and is due back in completed on Tuesdays.
- Spelling tests are each week on Tuesdays.
- Reading folders are to be taken home each night and brought back in everyday (encourage reading as much as possible!).
- PE kit to be at school each day (dark shorts/track suit bottoms and white t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt along with trainers).
Week 1 Spellings (tested on Tuesday)
night - The night was dark and cold.
knight - The knight saved the princess.
flour - We need more flour to make the cake.
flower - You could smell the flower from across the drive.
led - Mr. Sutherland led the class in after break time.
lead - That pipe is made of lead.
blew - The wind blew wildly.
blue - I coloured the page in light blue.
brake - The car needed to brake quickly.
break - We got a drink at break time.
Have a great weekend everyone! Remember to study your spellings and bring in your PE kit and reading folder.
