This week in maths we spent some time learning about time! Children reviewed how to tell the time on an analogue clock, converted 12h and 24h digital times and added and subtracted units of time. Some have done really well with this, while others need a lot more practise. So, homework this week is just that...more practise with time!
In English, we went through the scary stories from homework last week. We had a lot of great description used, but in the end, the class voted for Skye's as the scariest. Well done Skye! We also completed some reading comprehension about the Gunpowder Plot where children had to answer in complete sentences. Furthermore, we looked at the features of recount texts, in preparation for writing a recount on Bonfire Night next week!
In topic, we've finished off learning about the Ancient Greeks and started our new topic: Forces and Magnets! Children have thought about what they want to learn and written questions in their books. We'll look forward to trying to find some answers to these questions throughout the unit.
Spellings have been tested ('ure' endings). Our Top Spellers this week were: Daniel, James, Eve A, Ellie, Sophie S, Maddison and Eve H. Well done to you all! +2 HPs each.
