In English, we looked at using a variety of sentence openers again. Children also planned and wrote a recount of their term break activities. Furthermore, we have neared the ending of our class novel: Frankenstein.
In topic, we have started our new unit on The Mediterranean. Children have completed their pre-learning assessment and written down enquiry questions that will be used to guide their learning.
In PE, we undertook a class fitness assessment. Children tried their best completing activities such as standing long jump, sit-ups, push-ups, vertical jump and skipping for one minute intervals. We recorded these totals with the idea that we'll do the same assessment at the end of this term to hopefully see the fitness progress we make! In the meantime, get practising!

Homework this week is to do with our topic. You need to make as many words as you can out of the letters in the word Mediterranean. Good luck! Remember, words need to be three letters or longer.
Most children did an excellent job of making sure to read over the term break. Keep up the good work and read as often as you can. Remember, to improve you need to practise!
Reminder: next week we are off on the Monday (Bank Holiday) and the Thursday (election).
Have a great weekend everyone!
