In English, we have been looking at persuasive writing. Children wrote a persuasive text about zoos with their table partner after having a class debate. Children know how a debate is carried out and know the terms argument and rebuttal. Later in the week, children wrote their own persuasive text. They chose one of three topics: why energy drinks should be banned, why speed limits on our roads are needed or why children need to brush their teeth. Children had all sorts of feelings on these topics and were eager to write them down!
In topic, children added pictures to their branching tree diagram they created last week. They look quite good now! You can check these out at home on Purple Mash.
In PE, we have been taking passing and dribbling skills in basketball. This week we moved on to bumping and volleying skills for volleyball! We'll continue with this next week.
