In English, we looked at punctuating speech again. We also started to plan stories. Children found thinking of a problem and solution challenging. Some children don't really understand that a story problem isn't simple just an event that happens in the story. We'll continue to work with this concept next week as it seems to be a clear problem area.
Our topic, sound, is progressing nicely. Children experimented with string telephones to try to understand how sound travels. They performed four different scenarios to come up with their results. So, how does sound travel?
Top Spellers this week were: Rhys, Sophie E, Daniel, James, Logan, Annalise, Eve A, Alanah, Eve H, Maddison and Sophie S. Well done. +2 HPs each!
Spelling for the next few weeks will be a review of all of the words we've studied over the year. Children have a word page and their spelling books to look back through. I wouldn't suggest trying to study all of the words on the page, because there are a lot. Instead, look through and see how you did previously and only study the words you misspelled.
The Good Behaviour Award this week went to Logan for showing good sportsmanship during PE.
The Good Work Award this week went to Skye for carrying out extra research on Europe to share with the class.
The Class DOJO Winner was shared between Eve A and Charlotte.
Well done to you all. +5 HPs each.
Remember that next week is National Sports Week. Our School Sports Day is on the Thursday (29th June).
Make sure that PE kits and reading folders are in school each day. Also make sure to read and record in your yellow log book and study your times tables and spellings. Homework this week is further practise with adverbs. Children need to come up with adverbs that start with the letters of the alphabet! This will hopefully help to increase their ever-growing vocabulary.
Have a great weekend everyone!
