In English, we learned how to use commas! Commas are a versatile piece of punctuation that is hard to master, but we're getting there! Homework this week is further practise with commas so try your best and show me you know what you're doing! We also wrote character descriptions. Children wrote a practise character description on Frankenstein's Monster within their groups, before moving on to writing their own character description about their own Roman character. These characters are going to be created in 'hand-puppet form' over the next couple of week in hopes of actually using them in a puppet show later!
In topic, children completed a timeline of Roman events. Since the Romans ruled for such a long time, this proved to be a lengthy activity! We also started to complete a map of where the Roman's included in their Empire. Children have been using atlases to source out which current countries would have been under Roman rule back when they were in power. It's been a challenge!
Top Spellers this week were: Eve A, James, Logan, Alanah, Rhys, Ellie, Daniel and Sophie S. Well done. +2 HPs each.
