This first week of the Summer Term flew by. In Maths we have been learning about data collection. The children completed a tally chart and pictograph with my guidance, then, towards the end of the week, completed their own data collection to fill in their own tally chart and eventually their own pictograph. What did you find out from your chart?
In English we focused on adverb use to improve descriptive writing and we also looked at what is included in a recount text. What are two things to remember when writing a recount?
Our light topic has moved along swiftly. We looked at how light is made up of a spectrum of colours. What are the light spectrum colours again? We also drew our own shadows and experimented with a sundial. The children made their own sundials to test at home. Things to remember if you do try it out are: make sure the arrow points North and make sure it doesn't move after you place it! Hopefully it work and you can tell the time!
We had a lot of children not bring their PE kit or reading folder or homework in this throughout this week. Make sure everyone remembers everything next week!
Summer Term spellings were handed out early this week and we have our first spelling test of the term on Tuesday.
