This week we looked at fractions and decimals in maths. The children have learned how to express fractions as decimals and decimals as fractions. They then learned how to order decimals by using their knowledge of place value. Here is the game we tried in class. Select the 'decimals 0.01 to 9.99' option.
In English, we looked at some poetry. We started off looking at similes and metaphors, then the children wrote some of their own within a poem framework based on a specific colour. I recorded them reciting their poems, we then played them back and critiqued each other! I think everyone enjoyed seeing and hearing themselves, even if they thought they sounded funny!
Homework this week is another chance to have a go at writing a poem. This time, you can write about any topic and use any format. If you really want a challenge, try making it rhyme!

This is the last week for words that sound the same but are spelled differently. After Week 7 (and the half-term break) the words will be significantly more challenging, so get studying now!
The Good Work Award went to Dominic for his great job ordering decimal numbers, while the Good Behaviour Award went to Ellie F for winning DOJOs again last week.
