Areas to focus on in maths seem to be rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000, finding factors of two-digit numbers, working with negative numbers, using the inverse and time. If you have any spare time over the weekend or during the evenings throughout the week, be sure to practise some of these concepts. Homework this week focuses on rounding and finding factors!
Areas to focus on in English include using speech correctly, using adverbs and estimations of time. Children also need to improve their reading comprehension. They are generally able to read quite well, but when asked questions about what they have read, several struggle. Looking for information within a text seems to be something we'll need to spend more time on also.
Our sound topic hasn't really been begun yet, but we'll make a start with this next week. The first idea we'll look at is how sound travels, then we'll look at the mechanics of how we hear with our ears. I think the children with clearly enjoy this topic!
As requested again, here is the link to the Roman numeral game we played on Friday.
