In English, we looked at how paragraphs are formed mainly. Children worked up to writing a non-chronological report towards the end of the week, which was grouped into three distinctive paragraphs. Children also worked on their proofreading skills, as they checked their classmates' work for simple errors and omissions.
In Topic, we ended our unit on The Romans. I held a presentation afternoon where I showed the class all of their Powerpoint presentations that they created to do with the Romans. Children found this both fun and interesting, as some groups picked up on different facts that others may have missed out.
Summer term spellings were handed out this week with the first test being next Tuesday.

The Good Behaviour Award went to Brooke this week for keeping herself out of bother with others.
Our Class DOJO winner was Joshua this week. He ended the short week with 6 DOJOs.
Well done everyone!
Summary pages were handed out and completed today. Children wrote their mental maths score and their Spring Term Spelling average. It's a good idea to keep these to see how they improve over the course of the term. We had some remarkable improvement by some in both mental maths and spellings, so hopefully this term follows suit.
Children need to read at least twice throughout the week and once on the weekend (date and pages read recorded). Along with this, they should study their spellings and times tables as much as needed. Reading folders and PE kits are required everyday. Homework is still due on Tuesdays and our spelling test is completed on the same day also.
Best of luck to Archie as he moves to his new school. We'll miss you!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Mr Sutherland
